Affordable Proteins for Building Muscles

Increasing Body Muscle Mass with Eggs and Cottage Cheese

Overnight fast is a major factor that contributes to catabolism. What is catabolism? It is the loss of mass muscle overnight when one is sleeping. This occurs during the post absorptive period when the body is not being fed but is digesting food.

Net synthesis of protein, there needs to be large increases in levels of amino acids. A meal of protein that contains 20 to 30 grams of fast digesting protein is enough to make sure the body does not go into a state of catabolism. A meal of protein that best provides 20 to 30 grams of fast digesting protein include eggs and protein drinks etc.

In order to stop the breakdown of protein in the body, there need to be small increase in levels of blood amino acid. The increase should be prolonged for 4-5 hours so as inhibition of protein breakdown can take place.

Slow digesting protein is needed in this case including casein. Phasic bursts in amino acids are needed to stimulate protein synthesis. How does one time the meals for optimal synthesis of protein? The best way to coerce the muscles getting big is through large bursts of hyper aminoacidemia for every four hours with a prolonged low hyper aminoacidemia level.

The best way to maintain a high positive daily intake of protein in the body is to eat a combination of fast digesting and slows digesting protein for every three to four hours and over, so the protein status of the muscle is determined by protein synthesis minus protein breakdown.

To increase anabolic outcome  one is able to wake up in the middle of the night and provide the body with protein nutrition diet although to some it might be considered disturbing the sleeping pattern. Milk protein blends and home made casein/whey combinations could be superior to slow digesting protein alone.

A combination of fast and slow digesting protein can prove the best in increasing synthesis of muscle protein and prevents muscle breakdown. Halfway in the night when sleeping, the body is likely to run out of protein for building of muscle thereby leaving one in a catabolic state.

That is why it is good idea for one to have a meal of protein before going to bed. Waking up in the middle of the night to have intake of protein is also recommended but not everyone can do this.

A better choice of protein meal is old cottage cheese and a blend of proteins including protein drink and eggs.
