In cases wherein there are already stretch marks present, the essential
oils are to be massaged regularly onto the blemished skin until they are absorbed fully. Care
should be exercised in the use of essential oils since there are some of them which are not
advisable for use by pregnant women.
In addition, these essential oils are in concentrated form and must be
properly diluted with other carrier oil in order to avoid the possibility of contracting allergies
especially when they are applied topically. Some of those essential oils which are recommended for
dealing with stretch marks are Lavender,
Mandarin, Neroli, and Geranium while Olive, Apricot, Sesame, Wheat Germ,
Primrose, and Jojoba are the suggested carrier oils to be used. These essential oils has
regenerative properties which will allay aging of the skin, repair skin cells, and improve skin
elasticity, an important factor in minimizing stretch marks.
There was this one lady I met in the hospital; she’s on her fourth
pregnancy yet you cannot find any stretch marks on her at all. When asked about the secret to her
unmarred skin, she said she never had any stretch marks even after three childbirths and the only
thing she was using is Lavender essential oil.
She used Lavender because she likes the aroma and it was only lately that
she learned that it has healing properties which is effective for stretch marks and wrinkles.
Treating stretch marks should not just be entirely entrusted to the healing properties of essential
oils, it is also important to make sure that your diet includes plenty of Vitamin A, E, C,
selenium, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and fatty acids.
While the essential oil helps your skin from the outside, these minerals
and vitamins will provide the necessary nourishment for your skin from the inside. Further, even if
essential oils are natural essences, it is important to get the advice of a professional heath
provider or a certified expert on essential oils in order to circumvent any untoward
consequence.
