Crispy Onion Rings

Ingredients:
2 yellow onions
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups fine dry breadcrumbs, preferably whole-wheat
1 tbsp. seasoning blend (Cajun, jerk, or old bay)
Olive oil

Preparation:
Peel the onions and slice into ½ inch thick slices and place in a bowl of cold water
Mix the flour and baking powder in a bowl
Beat the eggs in another bowl
Combine the crumbs and seasoning in a third bowl
Working one ring at a time, coat each ring with flour, dip in egg, and coat in the bread crumb mixture.
Place the coated onion rings onto baking sheets and bake for 10 minutes
Turn the position of the onion rings and bake again for another 10 minutes
 
Extra Caution: Side effects and Warning

Onion is perfectly safe to consume, especially when it is eaten raw. However, heartburns may be worsened from higher intakes of onion. For most people, eating onion is not of any danger, for pregnant women however, there is a little risk. Pregnant women normally feel heartburns and as mentioned, onion may worsen it. Some also have allergies with onions and it normally manifests as asthma attacks, skin rashes, and eyesores. Onions may cause bad breath and tears, but those tears are called the special tears of joy.
